Products made in India, sport my new "Fashion Tiger" label and those made in Illinois, my traditional "Mrs. Emily" label.

you want me to pick up WHAT?

This week we are contemplating HOW to appreciate the poo after it hits the fan, so to speak.

It’s ZERO WASTE WEEK, celebrating the process of using every scrap of fabric to make my skirts. And EVERY SCRAP OF EXPERIENCE to make our lives.

I’m in the post production stage of making skirts, which is kind of the main one.

First I make the skirt, sew all the little fabric pieces to it. But THEN, I wash and dry it, and spend time on each ‘pouf’ making sure it’s just right. I comb over the skirt with scissors and a lint roll and an iron, and as I do, I am thinking:

To make the kind of life where you use every little scrap of experience good and bad, takes EFFORT. And a fair amount. 🔥🔥🔥🔥It is not the easiest way, to appreciate the lowest moments. Harder yet to make use of them.🔥🔥🔥🔥

I think we’ve all had low moments this year. I’ve had to step away from my retail space and say goodbye to my sewist.

So now, the option is to pick up the pieces and figure out a way forwards. I want to encourage you, if things kind of suck rn, perhaps you are going in the right direction.

Check out the skirt. This week, upgrade to zero waste by adding poufs for free. And hang out in this space as we chat more about the parts of life that stink. 💁🏼‍♀️💩
