Meet the India Team
My business changed drastically in 2020, and I found myself rethinking what I wanted to make and how.
I experienced new depth in my product with the introduction of exquisite handmade textiles first from Bangladesh, then India.
In the upstairs bedroom of my home in Illinois, I could ensure that the quality of the skirt matched that of the fabric. But moving toward factory production, I didn't know how to keep the integrity of my product.
Then I met Mallary, co-founder of Ziyada, through a mutual friend. Ziyada is a small family workshop; providing meaningful employment, and breaking the cycle of extreme poverty in North India. And they make a seriously good skirt.
Mallary and her team have made possible, this huge and long awaited step for my business.
Skirts made in India, sport my new "Fashion Tiger" label and skirts made in Illinois, my traditional "Mrs. Emily" label.
