The Goodbye Dress
Last week I talked about how I first came to love dresses. This week, I'm talking about the potent power of a fabulous frock to diffuse a disastrous day.
You may remember, my best friend is moving away. Yes, my soul-sista is moving half a country away and I'm going to cry all the tears.

Dresses go everywhere and they do everything:
1. Dresses are flattering. They glide right over things, adding lovely curves, taking others away. They make you feel put together and feminine.
2. Dresses simplify. A small selection of wonderful frocks ensures that when you go to pick out what you're wearing for the day, it's going to be easy and you're going to look great.
3. Dresses are appropriate in most settings. They can be casual when worn with white tennis shoes or converse all stars and are easy to dress up with strappy sandals or heels. I always wear mine...

Mental Catalog: The evolving collection of personal do's and don'ts that informs what you add to your closet/beauty regimen and what you edit out of your closet/beauty regimen.
As you try new things, you amend your mental catalog; making notes of what things work and what things don't: from brands that fit you, to silhouettes that suit you, to haircuts and colors that flatter, to beauty products that work.
